Attempting to quell concerns about the safety of its Alzheimer’s therapy, Eisai made the case that even higher-risk subgroups such as patients on anticoagulants and those carrying two copies of the APOE4 allele experienced low rates of brain hemorrhage that did not outweigh the clinical benefit they received in the pharma’s Phase III trial.
