New CEOs at Scholar Rock, Neuway, NeuVasQ and ProLynx

Protein growth factor company  Scholar Rock Holding Corp. (NASDAQ:SRRK) named Jay Backstrom as president, CEO and board member, effective Oct. 20. Backstrom, who was EVP of R&D at Acceleron Pharma Inc., will succeed Founding and Interim CEO Nagesh Mahanthappa. 

Neuway Pharma GmbH promoted COO Oliver Ernst to CEO and hired Thomas Christoph as chief development officer. Christoph, a pharmacologist, was most recently a consultant for several biotech companies specializing in translational pharmacology, and led pharmacology and preclinical development at Gruenenthal GmbH.
