NIH’s vaccines and diagnostics now fill WHO’s COVID-19 tech pool

NIH has quadrupled the pool’s technologies and secured it trifecta of countermeasure types: vaccines, antivirals and diagnostics

Two months after announcing its intention to contribute IP to WHO's COVID-19 Technology Access Pool, NIH’s licensing of 11 technologies brings to 14 the number of COVID-19 countermeasures in the pool’s portfolio, which now includes early-stage vaccine in addition to antivirals and diagnostic candidates.

Launched in May 2020 with the support of 30 countries and several international partners and institutions, the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Technology Access Pool (C-TAP) seeks to amass data, knowledge and IP for COVID-19 countermeasures to be shared equitably worldwide. ...
