Series A funding continues to climb for European biotechs
This year looks as strong as last, when European companies raised $1.8B in series A rounds

Despite public market woes, the year has started strong for private biotechs in Europe looking to raise series A funding. Through the end of April, 20 European biotechs had brought in $513.5 million in series A rounds, putting the region on pace to reach a record number of 60 A rounds if the current activity level is sustained.
With early-stage VCs raising ever-larger funds and some late-stage VCs redeploying capital to earlier investments as the bear market continues to bite down on IPOs and follow-ons, the amount of series A funding available to young biotechs continues to grow. ...
