Jan. 19 Quick Takes: Gates, Wellcome each pledge $150M to CEPI

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Wellcome each pledged $150 million to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation as the global partnership approaches its March 8 global replenishment conference to support a five-year plan to combat pandemics. CEPI co-leads COVAX, a global initiative to deliver equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, which now has more than 1 billion doses of the CEPI-funded Novavax vaccine available to it. 

On the heels of an August $30 million series A round, Massachusetts Institute of Technology-spinout Iterative Scopes Inc. raised $150 million in series B money co-led by Insight Partners and Clearlake Capital Group. The Cambridge, Mass.-based company is designing computational tools to support inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinical trials, polyp detection and endoscopy.
