U.K. review on COVID-19 racial disparities suggests biology could compound comorbidities, societal factors

A review by the U.K.’s Race Disparity Unit showed that racial inequities in ICU admittance and death from COVID-19 persisted even after adjusting for environmental and socioeconomic risk factors, raising the possibility that there may be biologic reasons for residual risk that could be addressed by drug developers.
