Photo-polymerized biodegradable hydrogel data

Focal presented rat data indicating that its hydrogel can reduce internal scarring and inflammation following laminectomy, a form of spinal surgery. Data from six rats were presented at the Surfaces in Biomaterials '93 Symposium in Cambridge.

Three rats received 0.25 ml of hydrogel and three received saline. After three weeks, all three control sites showed a moderate amount of fibrosis and two control sites showed a moderate amount of chronic inflammation. One site showed microabscess formation and focal acute osteomyelitis. ...
