Hydrogel light-polymerized data

Results in groups of seven rats each were presented at the joint meeting of the American Fertility Society and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, showing reduction of readhesion after surgical separation of adhered tissues in rats treated with Focal's hydrogel.

Researchers created adhesions, which were lysed seven days later and either treated or not. After a further seven days, 87 percent of the length of the uterine horn in the control rats had adhesions compared to 20 percent in the treatment group (p<0.005). In addition, in rats treated with Ethicon Inc.'s Interceed, an approved treatment, 97 percent of the uterine horn length had adhesions, while the adhesion figure was 75 percent in rats treated with hyaluronic acid. ...
