CTII reported delivery of large molecules across the blood-brain barrier in primate and rodent models, by means of its CRIB technology.

At the Conference on Neurodegenerative Disease in Florida, data were provided on cross-species implants releasing nerve growth factor (NGF) for Alzhei- mer's disease and Huntington's disease, and dopamine for Parkinson's disease. The CRIB implant, a polymer capsule with size-selective pores, allows nutrients to reach cells secreting the therapeutics, but shields the cells from the recipient's immune system. ...
