Hextend synthetic plasma substitute data

Results in rats have shown survival with physiological levels of blood electrolytes after replacement of 70 to 80 percent of circulating blood, BTIM said. In data being submitted for presentation at a scientific meeting, 9 rats treated with BTIM's product had 80 percent of the blood calcium of 8 control animals, as compared to a commercially available plasma extender, which gave 63 percent of control calcium levels (p < 0.001). ...
