Gensia Inc. sales and marketing update

GNSA's product sales were $3.7 million in the second quarter ended June 30 compared to $2.2 million in the 1992 period. The net loss was $14.9 million (59 cents per share) on total revenues of $8 million vs. a loss of $10.5 million (38 cents) on $7.9 million in revenues in the second quarter last year. The cost of goods sold was $5.5 million for the 1993 quarter and $3.5 million in the 1992 quarter. Increased selling, general and administrative expenses of $5.1 million, up from $3.6 million in the 1992 quarter, were attributed to expansion of sales and marketing activities for its Laryngeal Mask Airway and generic injectable drugs. ...
