BetaKine recombinant transforming growth factor beta-2 data

CTRX (Santa Clara, Calif.) presented data from an open-label, cross-over follow up trial in 46 patients who had received either vitrectomy and placebo or vitrectomy plus BetaKine (primarily the low dose tested in a Phase II trial).

As reported at the American Academy of Ophthamology meeting in San Francisco, of 48 eyes that received the agent at the 1330 ng high dose, with a repeat surgery, 40 ( 83 percent) showed flattening of the hole that is evidence of a repair.
