Alza, Sepracor deal

SEPR (Marlborough, Mass.) reached a definitive agreement in a previously announced deal with AZA (Palo Alto) to develop a single-isomer compound in a transdermal delivery system. SEPR will provide AZA with the single-isomer form of an undisclosed, FDA-approved drug being sold as a racemic mixture. SEPR will be reimbursed for its development costs and receive sales royalties from AZA, which has exclusive worldwide marketing rights.

Separately, SEPR completed the previously announced purchase of a bulk-drug manufacturing facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for C$3.6 million. SEPR expects to have the plant fully operational this year. ...
