GLYC (Alameda, Calif.) presented data showing the effect in nude mice implanted with human tumors, demonstrating success against breast, prostate, and pancreatic tumors, without toxicities. Both carbohydrates significantly inhibited the subcutaneous growth of the tumors in the animals.
In nude mice implanted with a human breast tumor cell line, 100mg/kg/day of GM1306 inhibited growth by 60 percent (p < 0.05), and 50 mg/kg/day was just as effective, the company told BioCentury. ...
