APG (Houston, TX) presented results at the European Society of Human Genetics meeting, showing that probes for mRNA for fetal hemoglobin, and probes for chromosomes X, Y, 13, 18, and 21 could be combined into a one-step protocol that allows simultaneous hybridization with the hemoglobin and at least two chromosomes, with results available in an hour or less.
