Amylin preclinical data

AMLN researchers presented preclinical data at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting in Vienna showing that pancreatic glucagon secretion is inhibited by amylin. Glucagen is a peptide hormone that promotes glucose production. Glucagon secretion is known to be inhibited by insulin and by glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). The scientists compared amylin and GLP-1 in rats stimulated by arginine to secrete glucagon. ...
