Chiron, Scios, Pharmacia S.p.A., The Salk Institute for Biological Studies regulatory update

The European Patent Office ruled in favor of SCIO in a patent opposition related to Fiblast recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor. SCIO is developing Fiblast to treat stroke and peripheral vascular and coronary artery disease. The ruling confirms an earlier EPO decision to issue a patent to SCIO and rejects the opposition to the patent filed jointly by CHIR and Pharmacia. The decision is subject to appeal. ...
