AmBisome liposomal amphotericin B data

Independent researchers published results showing that a short treatment of AmBisome is effective in visceral leishmaniasis. Five or six doses over 10 days were sufficient to cure almost all participants in an Italian trial, as reported in Clinical and Infectious Diseases. Of the 56 children and 32 adults treated, 84 (95 percent) were cured, and the remaining 4 patients were cured after receiving the agent at 3 mg/kg daily for 10 days after they failed the first course.
