Aredia pamidronate data

University researchers reported positive results of a Phase III study of Aredia in reducing bone destruction in patients with stage III multiple myeloma. FDA approval of the drug for this indication last September was based on results of the study.

As published in The New England Journal of Medicine, patients received 90 mg of Aredia or placebo in a four-hour iv infusion given every four weeks for nine cycles, in addition to standard anti-myeloma therapy. ...
