Enzo, Albert Einstein College of Medicine deal

ENZ and Albert Einstein began a one-to-two year research program for the treatment of hepatitis B and organ or graft rejection.

The hepatitis B program will focus on developing a "DNA medicine" based on ENZ's GenSert universal delivery system, which delivers DNA into foreign cells. ENZ plans to use a reagent to deliver DNA to the nuclei of hepatocytes in patients infected with hepatitis B in order to block the genes critical to the growth of the virus. This procedure, receptor-mediated endocytosis, results in the breakdown of the DNA medicine into nucleotides. ...
