Incyte Pharmaceuticals Inc., Combion Inc. deal

INCY acquired Combion for $3 million in INCY stock. Combion has developed ink-jet printing technologies for high-density gridding and chemical synthesis applications. Combion's Gene-jet technology is designed to produce microarrays of cDNAs, and its Chem-jet technology is used for rapid, automated combinatorial chemistry and oligonucleotide microarray synthesis.

INCY plans to use Gene-jet to produce computer-designed arrays of the company's DNA sequences, to determine gene-expression patterns in large numbers of tissues, as well as to design functional analysis studies.
