The companies will develop a once-a-day formulation of SEPR's terfenedine carboxylate, a nonsedating antihistamine, using ANDRX's SCOT drug delivery system. Terfenedine carboxylate is an active metabolite of Seldane, which had 1995 sales of $600 million.
