Biovail Corp. International, Galephar P.R. Inc. deal

BVF (Toronto) acquired Puerto Rico-based Galephar, the co-developer of BVF's Tiazac once-daily diltiazem product, and a developer of other controlled release products, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction will be accounted for as an asset purchase.

Through the purchase, BVF acquired controlled release technology, additional territorial rights to Tiazac, including Europe, and a 22,000 square foot R&D and manufacturing facility in Carolina, Puerto Rico. ...
