Alpha-Beta preclinical data

ABTI (Worcester, Mass.) reported preclinical data suggesting that Betafectin would enhance bone marrow recovery after chemotherapy. The company recently filed an IND to test the ability of Betafectin to mobilize peripheral blood precursor cells with and without growth factors, and hopes to begin clinical testing in the fall.

As reported at the meeting of the International Society of Experimental Hematology in Duesseldorf, Betafectin, combined with hematopoietic growth factors, gave a 1.5-to 2-fold increase in the number of colony forming cells, compared to growth factors alone. ...
