CHIR and Johnson & Johnson's Ortho Diagnostic Systems settled their hepatitis C patent dispute with Organon Teknika. Under the agreement, Organon Teknika (Durham, N.C.) will pay an undisclosed amount of compensation for past acts judged to infringe CHIR's U.K. and European patents covering hepatitis C virus (HCV).

CHIR (Emeryville, Calif.), Ortho and Organon also agreed to end all litigation in the U.K. and countries covered by the European patent. Organon also agreed to withdraw its opposition to CHIR's European patent. ...
