AZT combined with ddI or ddC data

Data on the combined use of AZT with ddI or ddC show lowered mortality rates during the trial compared to AZT alone. As presented at the European Conference on Clinical Aspects and Treatment of HIV infection in Copenhagen, the difference appeared in the Delta 1 trial, which enrolled patients who had not previously taken AZT.
Of 703 patients in the AZT group, 17 percent died, compared to 10 percent of 720 patients taking AZT and ddI, and 12 percent of the 708 in the AZT/ddC group. ...
