BCHXF (Laval, Quebec) announced results of the liver biopsies of 13 patients in a six-month treatment, six-month follow-up Phase II trial. Histologic improvements were associated with a decrease in viral DNA.

As reported at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases meeting in Chicago, a median 5 log decrease in viral DNA was found. PCR did not detect hepatitis viral DNA in 7 of the 13 patients. ...
