EMBX (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) filed a patent infringement suit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District in North Carolina against Edward Bounds, a Maryland-based inventor; Rame Haart, a New Jersey-based manufacturer; and Intervet, a Millsborough, Del., animal health company.
The suit claims that the companies' development of an in ovo injection device, allegedly designed to compete with EMBX's Inovoject injection method, violates U.S. Patent 4,450,630, covering the in ovo administration of various poultry health products, as well as separate U.S. patents covering certain design features of the Inovoject system. ...
