HEMA filed an antitrust and unfair competition complaint with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the Los Angeles Region Blood Service of the ARC, seeking undisclosed damages and injunctive relief.
HEMA alleges that the center has a tiered pricing scheme whereby customers are given preferred pricing and other considerations if they purchase at least 90 percent of their requirements for each type of blood product from the ARC, regardless of volume. HEMA charges that the alleged business practices compel customers to purchase blood products from the ARC at higher prices than those offered by HEMA. ...
