GelMed Inc. preclinical data

The Bedford, Mass., company announced development of a new polymer gel, Smart Hydrogel, that is liquid below body temperature but turns viscous on contact with normal body temperature, allowing it to stick to body surfaces and deliver medicines to mucosa and the eye, as well as to apply cosmetics.

A presentation on the properties of the gel was made at the annual Symposium on the Controlled Release of Bioactive Materials in Seattle. The technology is licensed from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ...
