Nicotine transdermal patch data

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine showed significantly more remissions in patients who wore the nicotine-dispensing patch, as assessed by sigmoidoscopy and biopsy as well as subjective measures.

In the patched patients, 17 of 35 had complete remissions during the six-week trial, compared to 9 of 37 who wore a placebo (p =0.03). The mean dose in the treatment group was 17 ± 6 mg. ...
