The Cambridge, Mass., company received a $5 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to further development of its recombinant AIDS vaccines containing multiple HIV antigens. The grant is a continuation of a five-year grant previously awarded to Therion by the NIAID.

Harvard University Medical School also received a $6 million, four-year grant from the NIAID to develop live, attenuated AIDS vaccines. Therion exclusively licensed the rights to the Harvard vaccines in 1993. ...
