The Malvern, Penn., company presented results in a rabbit model showing that Zyn-Lynker conjugates bearing rhenium-186 and yttrium-90 bound rapidly to synovial (joint-lining) cells and remained localized in the animals' knee joints.
Based on the results presented at the Mid-Eastern Chapter Society of Nuclear Medicine Meeting, the company does not expect the Zyn-Linker therapy to expose other tissues to unacceptable levels of radiation.
