The Miami company announced a potential new strategy for treating AIDS, using purified immune globulins from plasma donated by patients with a lupus-like condition called mixed connective tissue disease.
In AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, the researchers from the University of Southern California showed that a protein, 70k, occurring in human cells, is the target of autoimmune antibodies made by patients with the connective tissue disease. ...
