SangStat, Baxter Healthcare Corp. deal

SANG bought back the exclusive worldwide rights to distribute its pre-transplant monitoring products, which include PRA-Stat, Cross-Stat and Typ-Stat, from Baxter's Nextran business unit, and will distribute the products directly in exchange for undislosed payments and royalties to Baxter.

SANG already had planned to begin building an acute care sales force this year to prepare for marketing of Thymoglobulin, a graft rejection treatment, and Celsior, an organ preservation solution. The monitoring products will give the sales reps something to sell in the interim. ...
