Synaptic, Ciba-Geigy Ltd. deal

The companies extended their agreement to develop therapies for obesity and eating disorders. Although SNAP did not disclose the extended term of the agreement, the original three-year pact was to lapse in August 1997. The new agreement allows for additional research on undisclosed targets to treat obesity.
