Novozymes buys into third U.S. company

Novozymes (Bagsvaerd, Denmark) purchased the industrial microorganisms business from InterBio (The Woodlands, Texas), including production equipment and a 10-member sales force. InterBio's total 2001 turnover was about $7.8 million. Novozymes spokesperson Anne Thommesen said InterBio will keep its laboratory products business, which accounted for less than 25% of revenues last year.
