Mixed Phase II CJC-1008 data

ConjuChem (TSE:CJC) said preliminary DAC:Opioid (CJC-1008) data from one Phase II trial in total knee replacement surgery patients showed no statistical sign of efficacy, while another Phase II trial in post-herpetic neuralgia patients the compound showed statistically significant measurements of efficacy. DAC:Opioid is an opioid receptor agonist derived from Dynorphin A using CJC's DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) technology to bind serum albumin.

The double-blind, placebo-controlled, North American total knee replacement trial did not meet the primary endpoint of reduced use of morphine at 48 hours post-surgery in 40 evaluable patients. CJC said the Phase II trial in 30 evaluable post-herpetic neuralgia patients showed a statistically significant analgesic effect "at most time points" for DAC:Opioid compared to placebo, as measured by Visual Analog Score (VAS). ...
