NHS increases funding for clinical trials

The U.K.'s NHS formed the U.K. Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC), which has the goal of expanding the number of patients who participate in clinical trials. The UKCRC will have L24 million ($43.8 million) to form research networks of "clinical teams, primary care trusts, the voluntary sector, and industry" in Alzheimer's disease (AD), stroke, diabetes, mental health and pediatric indications.
