Ceregene raises $32M

Gene therapy company Ceregene (San Diego, Calif.) raised $32 million in a series B round co-led by Alta Partners and MPM Capital. Other investors included Hamilton-Apex Technology Ventures and California Technology Ventures.
Cell Genesys (CEGE), which launched Ceregene in 2001 as a wholly owned subsidiary, also participated in the round by converting a previous bridge loan into series B shares. CEGE now owns about 25% of Ceregene. ...
