Nereus raises $42.6 million

Cancer and infectious diseases company Nereus (San Diego, Calif.) raised $42.6 million in a series D round led by HBM BioVentures and HBM BioCapital. Other investors included Advent International; InterWest; Genavent; Red Abbey; Alta; Forward; GIMV; Novartis Bioventure Fund; Pacific Venture; FirstBio; and Lotus BioScience. The funds will be paid in two tranches of $24.3 million and $18.3 million on completion of certain development milestones. Gary Shearman of HBM Advisors; Jason Fisherman of Advent; and Nina Kjellson of InterWest became directors. ...
