Ziopharm raises $37 million

Cancer company ZIOP raised $37 million through a private placement of 8 million shares at $4.63, which is a 12% discount to ZIOP's close of $5.25 on Wednesday. Investors also received five- and seven-year warrants to purchase 2.4 million shares at $5.56 and $5.09, respectively. New investors ProQuest Investments; LBI Group; Emerging Technology Partners; Knott Partners; Panacea Asset Management; Cycad Group; Henderson Global Management; Medical Biohealth Trends; and VCH Expert Biotech Fund joined existing investors in the round.
