Millipore acquiring Serologicals

Research product supplier SERO rose $7.83 (34%) to $31.15 on Tuesday after supply and service company MIL offered to acquire SERO's 44 million shares for $31.55 in cash, which values the deal at $1.4 billion. The price is a 35% premium to SERO's close of $23.32 on Monday. The companies said the deal would strengthen MIL's position in drug discovery products and services.
