CHMP backs Latixa, Janumet, Tyverb

EMEA's CHMP issued a number of positive opinions on Thursday, including one for an MAA for Latixa ranolazine from CV Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CVTX) to treat chronic angina. CVT markets the selective late sodium current blocker in U.S. as Ranexa. On Thursday, CVT was up $0.45 to $9.32.
The agency also recommended approval of Janumet from Merck (NYSE:MRK) to treat Type II diabetes. The product, a combination of Merck's Januvia sitagliptin and metformin, was approved in the U.S. last year. ...
