Acambis gets $425M CDC contract, proposes offering

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded Acambis (LSE:ACM) a 10-year, $425 million contract to provide the agency with a U.S.-based, warm-base manufacturing capability for Acambis' ACAM2000 smallpox vaccine. Acambis will deliver a minimum of nine million doses of ACAM2000 to the agency annually beginning in the contract's third year. The CDC has an option to purchase up to 39 million doses per year beginning in the contract's fifth year, which would increase the value of the contract to $660 million. ...
