CMS updates cancer compendia

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced Thursday that it will recognize the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Drugs & Biologics Compendium as an additional source of information to determine which cancer drugs may be covered under Medicare Part B. CMS said it will no longer use the American Medical Association Drug Evaluations (AMA-DE) compendium, which the agency said is no longer updated or maintained.
