FTC moves to block Talecris acquisition

The Federal Trade Commission issued an administrative complaint and plans to file a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking a preliminary injunction to stop CSL Ltd. (ASX:CSL) from acquiring Talecris Biotherapeutics Inc. (Research Triangle Park, N.C.). FTC said the deal violates federal antitrust laws and would be anticompetitive.
