Universities adopt IP principles

The Association of University Technology Managers, together with six universities, adopted new technology transfer principles that seek to increase access to drugs in developing countries. The Statement of Principles and Strategies for the Equitable Dissemination of Medical Technologies commits the universities to "vigorous efforts to develop creative and effective licensing strategies that help to promote global access to health related technologies." It also describes strategies that would facilitate generic production or below-market pricing and encourages partnerships with not-for-profits and charitable organizations to fund research for neglected diseases. ...
