How inducible Cas9 created by UC Berkeley team can help drug development

University of California Berkeley scientists have generated an inducible Cas9 that can be programmed for activation by any protease. The protein has immediate applications in protease drug development and, as in vivo CRISPR therapies come of age, the novel Cas9 protein could prevent off-target effects in patients.
