Japan approves Foundation Medicine's genomic profiling and companion diagnostic cancer test

Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) approved FoundationOne CDx from Foundation Medicine Inc. and Chugai Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Tokyo:4519) as a comprehensive genomic profiling test for all solid tumors and as a companion diagnostic for MHLW-approved solid tumor therapies. A spokesperson for Foundation Medicine told BioCentury the test is the broadest companion diagnostic approved in Japan.
